Cross-country truly represents a legacy sport at The Stony Brook School.
Having won more than 40 league titles over the last 75 years through the efforts of some of the very best runners in New York history, our boys cross-country team has enjoyed a long and distinguished record of success.
While we certainly pursue athletic excellence and enjoy victory, we also expect our runners to represent the school and its mission with humility, courage, and grace: we waste our efforts if we end the season without any growth in our character or if we lose the respect of our opponents through disgraceful words and actions. For Stony Brook cross-country, it is simply not enough for us to be fast runners. Rather, we strive to bear one another’s burdens as we pursue personal and athletic success. Keeping those ultimate goals in mind, we welcome runners of all ability levels to be part of the future of Stony Brook cross-country!
