The Stony Brook School is exceptionally diverse as home to students from 26 different countries and 12 different states. We take pride in teaching our students to embrace working with and learning from those who come from different backgrounds and bring different perspectives. International Student Enrollment Policy

In its unique standing as a New York metropolitan boarding & day school, SBS prioritizes fostering a strong sense of community throughout our student body. In order to preserve its integrity, the Admissions Office has instituted the following policy effective immediately:

Any applicant who is not a United States citizen and does not hold a valid US passport will be required to attend the Stony Brook School as a 7-day boarder.

In addition to the application materials, all students whose first language is not English will be required to take the TOEFL iBT exam. Scores of past tests are valid if taken within one academic year of the application deadline; however, we do not use or accept TOEFL's MyBest score to evaluate an applicant. Please send all score reports to admissions@stonybrookschool.org or release them through ETS using our school code 8083.

International Student Partnership (ISP)

The International Student Partnership (ISP) is a school cultural immersion program designed specifically for international students who are new to Stony Brook – especially those who have not studied previously at a school in the United States. By providing early access to campus, initiating relationships with student leaders, and offering classes and trips, ISP will help participants gain confidence and fluency in preparing for success as Stony Brook students.

Please note that access to ISP is invitation only. All participants must complete a registration form and return it to the appropriate individual at SBS before the program begins.
